International Students Association
LMH, a top school for international students, has a club that caters to students from around the world. The establishment of an International Students Association sets LMH apart from other high schools
The LMH International Students Association (“ISA”) is a club for students from all nationalities including the USA to connect, share experiences and support each other. It offers leadership and volunteer service opportunities to enrich the students’ lives and the lives of others. Through ISA activities, students develop inter-cultural competencies which are critical for global citizens to be successful in today’s world.
Every Tuesday during the club period, ISA members connect through special inter-cultural programs, games and snacks. They also use this time to prepare for major school events such as the Diversity Week.
Exploring the US through fun excursions creates an excellent opportunity for both local and international students to deepen their friendships outside the classrooms. ISA students have enjoyed field trips to a local corn maze and farm, a futuristic games center at Laserdome as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art , Chinatown and attended a seminar at the United Nations HQ in New York.
A week devoted to celebrating diversity through creative school-wide activities with a multi-national theme. Both faculty and students are actively engaged in fun cross-cultural activities that promote teamwork and cultural awareness.
ISA members enjoy volunteering for school programs such as the Fall Festival and Half-Day Social, as well as serving other communities outside of school. ISA has served in the Special Olympics and plans to support Global Aid Network in the new school year.
