English
The study of language arts develops the communication skills students will need in their workplace, in further education and in service for the Kingdom of God. As students read and respond to literature from various times and cultures, they begin to understand more about themselves, the world, and questions and values of their society. Learning critical thinking skills enables students to become discerning consumers of mass media. By reading on a regular basis, students establish reading habits which provide lifelong recreation and access to information. Thinking and communication skills enable students to articulate their ideas, feelings, values, and faith.
